Laguna Woman Is Found Slain at Her Workplace
A 38-year-old Laguna Beach woman was stabbed to death at her business in San Juan Capistrano Friday, and Sheriff’s Department investigators are seeking her boyfriend for questioning in connection with the homicide.
Sheriff’s deputies were called to the business on Alipaz Street about 4 p.m. when a passerby noticed blood coming from the victim’s office and saw a man running from the scene, said department spokesman Jim Amormino.
Julie Marie Sangari was found inside with multiple stab wounds; she was taken to a nearby hospital and pronounced dead.
Amormino said investigators want to question Sangari’s boyfriend, Frederick Guest, 44 of Ontario, but stress he is not a suspect at this time. Guest is described as an African American, 6-feet, 180 to 200 pounds with curly hair. He was last seen driving a 1989 red-and-orange Pontiac with license plate 2NZM255.
Officials said Sangari’s office did not carry cash and that robbery is not considered a motive.
Amormino said investigators are also concerned about the welfare of the couple’s three children, ages 1, 2 and 12. Anyone with information is urged to call the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
Sheriff’s detectives and coroner’s investigators were at the scene late Friday night.
