Bottle Thrown into SUV Seriously Injures Girl

Calling it a shocking crime deserving of extra attention, deputies searched Monday for the person who hurled a bottle into a vehicle, striking and seriously injuring an 8-year-old Thousand Oaks girl.
Ciara McDaniel suffered a broken jaw, four broken teeth and facial cuts when she was hit Friday while riding in a sport-utility vehicle with her mother and four other children on West Hillcrest Drive.
Deputies canvassed a neighborhood near the crime scene Monday and talked to residents.
