BASEBALL
Relief pitcher Phil Tripoli of Golden West has committed to play at UC Irvine, Rustler pitching coach Duane Page said. Tripoli played in the California Community College All-Star Game, held at Loyola Marymount University in October.
FOOTBALL
Offensive guard Ryan Lumm of Santa Margarita has committed to William and Mary, a Division I-AA program, in Williamsburg, Va.
Lumm (6-3, 230), a first-team selection on the Times Orange County all-county team, chose William and Mary over Dartmouth, Georgetown, Colgate and Cornell, according to Eagle Coach Jim Hartigan.
* Loara defensive back Steven Douglas has committed to Texas-El Paso, his father Steven said.
Douglas, 6-1, 200 pounds, was a first-team All-Empire League selection at defensive end.
SOCCER
Cypress College forward Tymarie Novak has committed to play at Arizona, a Cypress spokesman said Tuesday. Novak, was a two-time All-Orange Empire Conference first-team selection.
