Keith Jarbo, player of the year in the Foothill League last season, had only one point and three rebounds in Burroughs’ 70-49 loss to Hart on Friday.

Jarbo, being recruited for football, left after the first half for a visit to Pennsylvania.

“We don’t have much opportunity to win without him,†Coach Art Sullivan said.

Trying to play basketball and pass tests in the same week, La Canada flunked a Rio Hondo League game against Blair. In the midst of finals week, the Spartans (17-5, 4-2) committed 37 turnovers in a 49-48 loss.

“We just didn’t show up for that one,†Coach Tom Hofman said.
