Blaze Damages Apartment Units
A fire gutted an apartment unit on Tuesday night, but was extinguished before it could spread through the two-story building. The unit below also suffered water damage during the efforts to extinguish the blaze.
No one was injured in the 7 p.m. blaze in the 21300 block of Roscoe Boulevard in Canoga Park, said Battalion Chief Mark Jones of the Los Angeles Fire Department. It took 40 firefighters about 15 minutes to put out the flames, he said.
No one was in the unit when the fire started, Jones said. The fire caused about $65,000 in damage, and the cause was under investigation, he said.
