Natrol Expects Lower Net for 4th Quarter

Natrol Inc. of Chatsworth reported that net income for the fourth quarter, which ended Dec. 31, would be down between 25% and 30%, compared with the $24.7 million reported for the like quarter of 1999.
The company said sales would increase 10% to 15% over the $81.6 million in 1999.
The company said that it had reduced its work force by 12%, to 285 employees, and that it eliminated bonuses to senior executives for 2000.
President and Chief Executive Elliott Balbert also said he would work without salary until the company returns to profitability.
Natrol Inc. manufactures vitamins, minerals and herbs.
