Moorpark 56, Agoura 45--Natalia Worth scored 19 points, Taryn Milburn had 12 rebounds and the Musketeers (11-3, 2-1) won a Marmonte League game at Moorpark.

Grant 83, Canoga Park 25--Krystal Clay had 38 points, 10 rebounds, six assists and four steals for the Lancers (9-7) in a Sunset Six League opening victory at Grant.

Alexis Weatherspoon added 32 points, 11 rebounds, eight steals and six assists for Grant.

The Hunters are 5-11.

Taft 59, Granada Hills 50--Christina Aguinaga scored 22 points for the Toreadors (12-0) in a West Valley League victory at Granada Hills.

Schquay Brignac added 13 points for Taft (12-0, 1-0).

BOYS

Rio Mesa 53, Camarillo 51--The Spartans ended the game with an 8-2 run to win a wild Pacific View League contest at Rio Mesa.

Rio Mesa (9-7, 2-0) led, 42-30, with 6:13 left in the fourth quarter after going on a 12-3 run. But Camarillo countered with a 19-3 run to take a 49-45 lead with two minutes left.

The Scorpions (9-9, 0-1) hit nine of 12 shots during their run, but they turned the ball over on their next three possessions while Rio Mesa went on a 7-0 run to take a 52-49 lead with 1:10 remaining.

Angel Torres, who scored 13 points, hit a three-point shot to cut Rio Mesa’s deficit to 49-48 and John McBride scored a basket with 1:27 left to give the Spartans a 50-49 lead.

Tunde Alonge scored a basket with 45 seconds left to give Rio Mesa a 52-49 lead.

Westlake 77, Royal 55--Kole Anderson had 26 points, six assists and four steals in a Marmonte League victory for the Warriors (7-6, 1-1) at Westlake.

Westlake’s Tyler Adamczyk had 16 rebounds and six blocked shots.

Simi Valley 76, Newbury Park 69--Dustin Villepigue had 20 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Pioneers (14-4, 3-1) in a Marmonte League game at Simi Valley.

Aaron Bobik scored 24 points and Adam Carlson added 23 for the Panthers (11-5, 1-2).

Moorpark 53, Agoura 48--Ron Russ scored 24 points, Greg Estandia added 20 and the Musketeers (11-5, 2-1) won a Marmonte League game at Agoura.

Estandia made all eight of his shots in the fourth quarter and Russ had five three-pointers.

Kevin Cornwell led Agoura (13-3, 2-1) with 13 points.

Oxnard 70, Buena 58--Nicholas Curtis had 23 points and 13 rebounds in a nonleague victory for the Yellowjackets (15-3) at Oxnard.

Lee Abair scored 13 of his 17 points in the fourth quarter for Oxnard.

Taft 87, Granada Hills 77--Mustafa Asghari’s 35 points helped the Toreadors overcome an 18-for-40 effort at the free-throw line in a West Valley League opener at Taft.

Steve Smith added 20 points and Nima Javeherian had 19 and six steals for Taft (12-4).

Kennedy 52, Monroe 41--Gervell Byrd scored 14 points for the Golden Cougars (6-10) in a Valley Mission League opening victory at Kennedy.

Crespi vs. Alemany--A power outage at Crespi High’s gym during the junior varsity game forced the Mission League varsity game to be postponed. The game has yet to be rescheduled.
