Car Bomb Injures at Least 40 at Mall

A car bomb exploded in a shopping center garage in Medellin, injuring at least 40 people and setting vehicles ablaze. Some reports said one person was killed. The bomb exploded at 7:40 p.m., a busy time at the northwestern city’s El Tesoro mall. No group immediately claimed responsibility. Leftist rebels and a right-wing paramilitary group are battling for control of the countryside in a worsening 36-year civil war.
