NEW DELHI — A huge 42-day festival, held only once every 12 years, begins in India on Tuesday.
More than 70 million people are expected to bathe at the confluence of the Yamuna and Ganges rivers at Allahabad, about 400 miles southeast of New Delhi, during the Maha Kumbh Mela festival.
