Bread con Chile Queso

Chile cheese bread similar to that produced by bakeries in Tijuana is also available at Pacific French Bakery in Los Angeles. The small oval, golden brown loaves are hollow in the center, revealing a filling of pale queso fresco (Mexican fresh cheese) and jalapeno chiles. Serve the bread warm as an accompaniment to soups, salads or a bowl of chili or by itself as a snack or light lunch.
