Moore Leads Narbonne, 80-48
Narbonne High defeated Washington, 80-48, Wednesday night in a City Section Championship Division quarterfinal behind Tennessee-bound guard Loree Moore, who scored 18 points and had 10 rebounds and 10 assists at Narbonne.
Narbonne is the No. 1 seeded team and defending City champion.
“We actually didn’t play well in the first half, but we were able to wear them down,†Coach James Anderson said. “Washington played a very good game.â€
Lisa Willis had 12 points and five assists and Amber Fouse had 15 points for Narbonne, which led 34-24 at halftime.
Fairfax 46, Carson 43--Rachel Ocampo gave the Lions the lead with a three-point basket, then secured the outcome with two free throws in the overtime victory at Carson.
Carson led until the final 40 seconds of regulation.
Ashlee Dunlap tied the score, 35-35, with a basket with 45 seconds left.
Dunlap finished with 24 points, 14 rebounds, four assists and three steals.
SOUTHERN SECTION
Redondo Union 53, Apple Valley 42--Jackie Packard scored 19 points and had four assists for Sea Hawks in the II-A quarterfinal at Redondo.
Ofa Tulikihihifo added 15 points and nine rebounds for Redondo Union, which won the II-AA title last season.
Cassandra Reeves scored 19 points for Apple Valley.
Torrance Bishop Montgomery 70, San Marino 31--Noelle Quinn scored 23 points in three quarters to lead the Knights in the III-AAA quarterfinal at Bishop Montgomery.
