It was still a mystery at press time whether Riders in the Sky picked up either of the two Grammy Awards the veteran western group was nominated for this year, country performance by a group for the “Woody’s Roundup†song from “Toy Story 2†or children’s musical album for their “Woody’s Roundup†album. Either way, their performance Sunday at the Crazy Horse in Irvine is likely to be award-worthy for the group’s consistently high musicianship, broad sense of humor and unflagging respect for the songs and the values of the Old West. Not surprisingly, the group shut its Web site for several days recently to mark the passing of singing cowgirl Dale Evans.
* Riders in the Sky, Crazy Horse Steak House, 71 Fortune, Irvine Spectrum. 5:30 and 8:30 p.m. $16 to $31. (949) 585-9000.
