Taylor Takes Measure of Nordhoff

Kim Taylor scored from 12 yards in the 12th minute and Chaminade High defeated Nordhoff, 1-0, in the second round of the Southern Section Division IV girls’ soccer playoffs Tuesday at Nordhoff.
Taylor scored her team-leading 28th goal of the season.
The four-time defending Division IV-champion Eagles (20-4-2) won their 12th consecutive game and clinched their fifth consecutive season with at least 20 victories.
In other Division IV games:
Oak Park 2, Diamond Ranch 1--Krista Clinton scored the decisive goal in the 70th minute at Oak Park (19-6-1).
Harvard-Westlake 3, La Reina 1--Kim LaVere scored on a penalty kick in the 16th minute to break a 1-1 tie for the Wolverines (16-3-4) at La Reina.
Louisville 3, Paraclete 0--Jenny Farenbaugh scored twice at Louisville (16-8-2).
DIVISION II
Sunny Hills 2, Westlake 0--Simi Phull and Megan Broschak scored for Sunny Hills (25-0-4) in a second-round game at Westlake (15-1-5).
It was the Lancers’ 19th shutout this season.
Esperanza 2, Camarillo 1--Ashley Naval and Heather Jablonsky scored for Esperanza at Camarillo.
DIVISION V
Thousand Oaks vs. Claremont--The second-round game was postponed until today.
Flintridge Prep 2, Thatcher 1--Jennia Taylor and Jenny Rowland scored for the Rebels (20-1-4) at Thatcher.
