Figge, Kunkel Help Eagles Fly Past San Clemente

Erika Figge scored six goals and Katy Kunkel had two goals and four assists to help Santa Margarita defeat San Clemente, 11-4, in the first round of the Southern Section Division I girls’ water polo playoffs Friday at El Toro High.
Kristen Carfioli had 12 saves for second-seeded Santa Margarita (20-8), which advanced to play the Los Alamitos-Canyon winner.
San Clemente finished 18-9.
In other Division I games:
Capistrano Valley 17, Woodbridge 5--Gigi Seuc scored five goals and Meghan Knox had four for the fourth-seeded Cougars (22-6-1), who advanced to play the Long Beach Wilson-Rosary winner.
El Toro 11, Long Beach Poly 5--Nicole Sonnenfeld had four goals for the Chargers (21-6), who advanced to play the Newport Harbor-Esperanza winner.
In Division IV:
Corona del Mar 16, Cypress 0--Danielle Carlson had four goals for the top-seeded Sea Kings (16-11), who advanced to play the Brea Olinda-Westminster winner.
