Miami Mayor Freed After Night in Jail

Miami Mayor Joe Carollo was released on $1,500 bail following a night in jail after he allegedly hit his wife in the head with a tea canister.
Judge Bertila Soto ruled that Carollo cannot be in the couple’s home when his wife, Maria Ledon Carollo, 42, is present, or speak or write to her. He also must surrender his guns to his lawyers.
Carollo, 45, spent a day in solitary confinement after his arrest Wednesday on a charge of misdemeanor simple battery.
