Man Arrested in Parents’ Stabbing
A 46-year-old man who allegedly stabbed his elderly parents in their Anaheim home was arrested early Wednesday morning, police said.
Bill Tran was arrested in his parents’ condominium in the 3300 block of West Lincoln Avenue before 6 a.m., authorities said.
Police received an unintelligible 911 call at 5:40 a.m. Officers went to the home and found Tran’s parents, who had been cut and stabbed numerous times.
Both victims were stabbed with more than one weapon, police said. They were taken to Western Medical Center-Anaheim.
Tran’s mother, Cam Dieu Mach, 73, was in serious but stable condition Wednesday night. Tran’s father, Binh Te Tran, 76, was in fair condition.
Police do not know what the motive for the attack might have been.
“Why he went off on them we don’t know,†Anaheim Police Sgt. Rick Martinez said.
Tran was booked into the Anaheim Detention Facility on suspicion of attempted murder.
