The California Guitar Trio sounds like the name of a folkie outfit from the ‘60s, but the ensemble by that name playing Sunday at the Coach House is anything but typical. It’s a globe-spanning group consisting of Belgium musician Bert Lams, Utah’s Paul Richards and Tokyo’s Hideyo Moriya, with help from superstar bassist Tony Levin and drummer Pat Mastelotto. Their repertory, too, knows no bounds, running from Dick Dale’s surf classic “Misirlou†to excerpts from Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony to an instrumental take on Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody.â€
