* Janice Bright, who had never been a tournament MVP before this season, added her second of the season when she was named MVP at the Nike Tournament of Champions. Her team, Lynwood, posted victories over three nationally ranked teams.
* The line for Valerie Ogoke in St. Mary’s 58-12 victory over Archer Academy: 35 points, 19 rebounds, 10 steals.
* Nikole Ramos had six three-point baskets among her 21 points for Don Lugo in a 57-51 loss to El Dorado.
* Anaheim’s Brenda Gallardo had six three-point baskets and scored 24 points in a 49-45 win over Fountain Valley.
CLUTCH
* Jessica Hopkins’ layup with eight seconds left gave Bell Gardens a 77-76 victory over Las Vegas Bonanza.
MILESTONES
* Rim of the World’s Kirsten Muir scored 14 points on Wednesday in a 69-39 victory over Bonita Vista. That gave her 1,000 points in her career. Teammate Jessica Jennings had reached 1,000 points on Dec. 10 against Redlands East Valley. “We’ve never had one even 1,000-point scorer, let alone two,” Coach Karen Rudolph said.
* Santa Barbara’s Araceli Gil also went over the 1,000-point barrier with a 21-point effort Saturday.
* Stephanie Duda, who topped 1,000 points earlier this season, scored 31 against Loma Linda Academy to set a Los Alamitos school record with 1,162 points.
* Meghan O’Donogue scored a school-record 39 for Mission Viejo in its 60-41 win over Northwood.
LOOKING AHEAD
* Seven of the 10 teams in the Orange County Championship have been ranked in the Times’ Top 25. In a doubleheader Thursday, Troy plays Norco at 5:30, and Hart plays host to Huntington Beach Edison at 7 p.m. On Friday, Esperanza plays Woodbridge at 7 p.m. The title game is Monday at 5 p.m.
