No. 18 Georgetown Wins Easily

Mike Sweetney scored a career-high 30 points before aggravating an ankle injury to help No. 18 Georgetown beat winless Morgan State, 91-65, Monday at Washington.
The sophomore forward made sure the Hoyas (7-1) didn’t pay for shooting poorly early, seizing control of the game midway through the first half to single-handedly erase a 17-15 Morgan State lead with seven consecutive points.
Wesley Wilson added 18 points for the Hoyas (7-1), who won their sixth consecutive game and improved to 15-0 against Morgan State (0-7), their most victories against an opponent without a loss.
Sweetney, who had 19 first-half points, finished the game with 13 rebounds. However, he left the game with 6:17 to play because of a bruised left ankle. He said the injury was not serious.
No. 16. St. Joseph’s 85, Drexel 64--Na’im Crenshaw scored 18 points and Bill Phillips added 17 for the Hawks (6-1), who shot 52% from the field at Philadelphia. Tim Whitworth had 15 points for Drexel (2-6).
Ahead, 60-46, with 11:22 to go, St. Joseph’s put the game away with a 14-2 run that gave it its largest lead.

Arkansas Coach Nolan Richardson recorded his 500th Division I victory as the Razorbacks defeated North Carolina-Greensboro, 89-74, at Fayetteville, Ark....Towson State guard Tamir Goodman told university police that Tiger Coach Michael Hunt assaulted him after a game. The sophomore’s complaint said that Hunt held a chair over the player’s head in a frightening manner after Saturday’s 67-62 victory over Morgan State. Police investigated Sunday and Monday turned the matter over to the Baltimore County state’s attorney’s office.
