A woman passenger was killed and the driver arrested on suspicion of drunk driving after a car drove off a Palmdale street and rolled over, authorities said Monday.
Neither the driver nor a second passenger in the 1993 Ford Escort suffered serious injuries in the crash, which occurred about 10 p.m. Sunday in the 6500 block of Palmdale Boulevard, said Deputy Jeff Perkins of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The driver--identified as Caornellglenn Yoneda, 32, of Palmdale--was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving and leaving the scene of an accident, Perkins said.
Yoneda was being held in the Twin Towers jail in lieu of $35,000 bail.
The woman, whom coroner’s officials have yet to identify, was thrown from the front passenger seat and died at the scene.
