INVITED TO: Stuffland, Stuff magazine’s summer party, at the Santa Monica Pier.

GO WEST, YOUNG STUFF: “I’m a fan of fine literature,†states Elisa Donovan. “Need I say more?†TV’s “Clueless†and “Sabrina†co-star is part of a crush of Stuff and Stuff-caliber bods that make up the 1,000-plus throng at the oceanside amusement mini-park (indeed, there are a bevy of “Baywatch†babes here, trying to stay occupied until the reunion episode starts casting). Whatever the peekaboo mag’s literary merits, its party acumen is beyond reproach--in this case, creating a summer refuge for Hollywood’s hip and glam, complete with clowns on bikes, carny games, rides and music overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Among the freak, fantasy and casual below-belly-baring outfits stands Mark Wahlberg, elegantly attired in a suit and tie. “Any time I’m photographed in public, I have to dress up. I promised my mother,†he says. (So that explains those Calvin ads.) Even East-of-Highland poster boy Vince Vaughn couldn’t resist the tug west. “Living in Los Feliz, I haven’t been to the pier in forever,†he says, making his way to the continent’s edge. “This is like a field trip.â€

LOOK MA, NO HANDS: “My heels are too high,†claims “VIP’s†Natalie Raitano, who remains 4 1/2 inches above terra firma. For others, G-forces beckon. David Arquette and Courteney Cox Arquette swing lovingly on the Sea Dragon ride, where the less-behaved Danny Masterson claims he and his “That ‘70s Show†posse “hocked loogies on people.†Limp Bizkit’s Fred Durst promises he’ll get the Jackass contingent to do even worse from the Ferris wheel. Porno for Pyros--Jane’s Addiction front man Perry Farrell moves from ride to ride, hitting the roller coaster three times, sandwiched Hefner-like between his two blond dates. Meanwhile, on the ground below, original “Survivor†Gervase Peterson briefly scores his own pair of female cuff links. A stint on the island of rat-eaters works wonders, eh? “I think it’s on the strength of Gervase,†he counters. “The ‘Survivor’ thing is over and done with.â€

CELEB QUOTIENT

Nearly all the Arquettes, a few Friends, Cher--and where else would you find Perry Farrell and Keanu Reeves on the same Ferris wheel?
