Supervisors to Review Building-Use Policy
From Times Staff Reports
Ventura County supervisors ordered a review Tuesday of the county’s policy on when religious groups can use county buildings for meetings.
The review was requested by Supervisor Steve Bennett, who said a recent Supreme Court decision makes it easier for religious organizations to rent out government buildings.
Policy revisions may be needed to bring the county in line with the June decision by the high court, said Bennett, whose district is based in Ventura. County Executive Officer Johnny Johnston will conduct the review.
