Neighbor Enters Wrong Home, Is Killed
An apparently intoxicated man who forced his way into his neighbor’s condominium after mistaking it for his own was shot to death by the neighbor Monday night.
Ho Kil Koh, 56, awakened Adrian Bal, 76, and his wife about 11 p.m. as he tried to get in. Fearing for their safety, Bal alerted building security and got his shotgun, police said. Security guards arrived just as Koh was trying to enter the home through the front door and ordered him to stop. Koh yelled back at the guards and refused to obey, police said.
When Koh burst into the home, Bal fired once, hitting him in the chest.
Both Koh and Bal lived on the ninth floor of the high-rise, luxury building at 222 Monterey Road.
Investigators will present the case to the district attorney’s office, Glendale police said.
