Alan Vaughan; Writer on Psychic Topics

Alan Vaughan, 64, a Santa Monica author who claimed that as a psychic he predicted the assassination of Robert F. Kennedy, Watergate and the Challenger space shuttle disaster. A native of Akron, Ohio, Vaughan earned a bachelor’s degree in Greek and Latin at the University of Akron and did graduate studies at Rutgers, the New School for Social Research, London’s College of Psychic Studies and the University of Freiburg. He co-wrote two books, “Psychics” and “Dream Telepathy,” and wrote five others, including “Incredible Coincidence” in 1979 and “Doorways to Higher Consciousness” in 1998. Vaughan edited Psychic Magazine in the 1970s, wrote numerous articles and appeared on such television programs as “The Unexplained” to discuss parapsychology. On April 8 in Santa Monica after a long illness.
