3 Brentwood Chamber Music Concerts Planned in Sunday Afternoon Series

A second spring season for Music Guild’s Sunday afternoon “Coffee, Cakes and Chamber Music” series begins April 22 at 3 p.m. in Brentwood.
Opening the three-concert series is the Rossetti String Quartet, which will play works by Haydn, Villa-Lobos, Tailleferre and Debussy.
The Alexander String Quartet plays May 20 at 3 p.m. Its program lists Mozart’s Quartet in D, K. 575, the String Quartet No. 5 by Shostakovich and Beethoven’s Quartet in B-flat, Opus 130.
Closing the series is the Arcata String Quartet, appearing June 3, with an agenda of works by Haydn (Quartet in F, Opus 50, No. 5), Beethoven (Opus 95) and Mendelssohn (Opus 44, No. 3).
All three concerts will be in University Synagogue, 11960 Sunset Blvd., Brentwood.
