First Lady’s Garden Tour a ‘Perfect Day’

First Lady Laura Bush explored Washington area gardens, enjoying the unseasonably warm weather with women from her garden club in Austin, Texas.
“We had the perfect day for touring the gardens in Washington,” Bush said to reporters during a guided tour of Hillwood Museum and Gardens, which was the third stop on the garden hop.
The first lady toured the former estate of art collector and philanthropist Marjorie Merriweather Post, whose father, Charles William Post, founded the Post cereal company. The estate contains 18th century French art and one of the world’s largest collections of Russian imperial art.
