Teemu Selanne scored the only Duck goal in a 3-1 loss to Minnesota, which opened Xcel Energy Center before 18,516. The expansion Wild scored three first-period goals.

It was the first NHL game in Minnesota since the North Stars left for Dallas in 1993.

Kai Nurminen scored the first goal just 2:29 into the game and assisted on the next one, by defenseman Brad Bombardir, about three minutes later.

The Ducks were scoreless against Wild goalie Jamie McLennan until Selanne scored with 5:46 remaining in the game.

The Ducks had 22 shots on goal, the Wild 14. The Ducks fell to 3-4-0 in exhibition play. Minnesota is 2-2-3.

“I wanted to show the fans that we have a decent team,†Wild Coach Jacques Lemaire said.
