There’s only one way to see these Chinese table tennis players lose: Put them on opposite sides.
Wang Nan beat her doubles partner Li Ju to win the women’s gold medal. The pair got together to beat Chinese teammates Sun Jin and Yang Ying for the women’s doubles gold.
Chen Jing of Taiwan won the bronze.
Chen won the Olympic singles title for China in 1988 and the silver for Taiwan in 1996.
In addition to gold and silver in both women’s competitions, the Chinese also took the top two medals in men’s doubles.
