Procopio Seals It With Kisses

Junior strong safety Louie Procopio of Notre Dame High is more than a little superstitious.
He wears a necklace that contains a lucky spoon. Last year on the junior varsity team, he had each teammate kiss the spoon before games. This season, only he kisses the spoon.
“It looks like it’s from some island ‘Survivor’ would be filmed on,” assistant coach Jeff Kraemer said.
As if kissing the spoon wasn’t enough, Procopio kisses the foot of kicker Nicholas Folk before each kickoff.
“He did it before a game [last season] to see what happened and I did well,” Folk said.
Procopio also kisses his dog tag before the game and wets his shirt, all for good luck.
“I’m just a very superstitious guy,” he said.
Said defensive coordinator Joe McNab: “He ain’t kissing my foot.”
