Golden West Stays Unbeaten
Golden West’s Kevin Marsh scored four goals as the Rustlers won the Ventura men’s water polo tournament with a 9-3 victory over Riverside Sunday.
Marsh, a sophomore two-meter man, also scored five goals in the Rustlers’ 13-2 semifinal victory over Citrus, giving him 19 goals in the last four games.
The Rustlers (4-0) led 2-1 at the end of the first quarter and scored four second-half goals to build a 6-2 lead. Riverside (2-1) scored one goal in the third, but was held scoreless in the final period. Goalkeeper Martin Lukac had four saves.
Citrus (2-1) scored two first-quarter goals in the semifinal, , but was held scoreless the remainder of the game. Jason Sanchez scored four goals in the two games and Trevor Wawrzynski scored three.
