Motorcyclist Killed in Collision With Car
A motorcyclist died Sunday in a collision with a car that was traveling on the wrong side of the road in the Sunland-Tujunga area, police said.
Dean Nelson, 63, was westbound on Big Tujunga Canyon Road about 1 1/2 miles north of Mount Gleason Avenue about 2:30 p.m. when a 17-year-old Burbank girl driving a station wagon ran into him, said Sgt. John Amott of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Traffic Division.
Nelson, of Sylmar, died at the scene, Amott said.
The girl, whose name was not released because of her age, was booked on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter, Amott said. He added that she did not have a driver’s license.
