MESA, Ariz. — Five residents of a disabled care facility and a driver burned to death inside a van Friday after it caught fire after getting stuck in dry brush in a desert ravine. Firefighters found one elderly passenger still in a wheelchair and others wearing seat belts, Mesa Police Sgt. Brian Kozak said.
Kozak said the driver may have been trying to make a U-turn. He said the passenger door was wedged against the side of the ravine.
