Infant Death at Child Care Center Under Investigation

SAN GABRIEL — Authorities are investigating the death of a 6-month-old girl who was injured at a child care center in unincorporated San Gabriel early Friday morning, a sheriff’s deputy said.
The infant was injured at a licensed child care center in the 8400 block of East Santa Ynez Street. Officials believe the injury occurred around 5 a.m. and deputies were summoned about 7:30 a.m., said Deputy Bruce Thomas.
Authorities declined to describe the injuries. An autopsy is pending.
