LONG BEACH — Police searched Thursday for three men responsible for killing a convenience store employee and injuring another man in the shop’s parking lot.
The employee, Yeong Kim, was leaving the Lucky Liquor store’s parking lot about 9 p.m. Wednesday when he was shot in the head through his car window.
The 60-year-old La Palma resident was pronounced dead on arrival at Long Beach Memorial Hospital.
The suspects also shot at another man, whose identity is being withheld pending completion of the investigation. He is an acquaintance of Kim, authorities said.
Shots fired at the second man caused him to crash his vehicle into a parked car. He received minor back injuries.
Authorities said they are not certain about the motive for the shootings.
Anyone with information about the crime is urged to call Dets. Steve Prell or Steve Lasiter at (562) 570-7244.
