A 25-year-old Canoga Park man died early Thursday from injuries suffered in a two-truck collision on Santa Susana Pass Road.

Ismael Garcia died at 1:25 a.m. in the intensive care unit at Simi Valley Hospital from head injuries sustained in the Wednesday morning accident.

Garcia was a passenger in a pickup truck driven by his brother, Guillermo Garcia Chavez, 19. The pickup was heading west on Santa Susana Pass Road when the driver lost control after it drifted off the road. The truck crossed the westbound lane and entered the eastbound lane where it was struck by a pickup driven by Harriet Levenson, 57, of Simi Valley.

Chavez was not hurt. A second passenger, 21-year-old Juan Garcia, was treated for a broken leg at Simi Valley Hospital.

Levenson was admitted to the hospital with two broken legs and a broken arm.

Authorities believe that everyone was wearing a seat belt and that neither drugs nor alcohol played a part in the crash.
