Award-winning author and Laguna Beach resident Theodore Taylor will visit Arnold Elementary School today. Taylor will discuss his children’s book “The Cay†and its sequel “Timothy of the Cay†with fourth-, fifth- and sixth-graders.
“The Cay†is the winner of 14 literary awards, including the prestigious Lewis Carroll Shelf Award. The book follows the journey of a prejudiced 11-year-old stranded on an island with a black man after his boat is torpedoed.
