Need for Traffic Relief
Re “Subway Line to Westside Is Urged in 25-Year Plan,†Nov. 16:
Twenty-five years till we get a Westside-Wilshire Boulevard subway? We need it now, and people who object ought to be forced into a rush-hour ride from downtown to Santa Monica any day, all along the central artery of what has long been the second-most densely inhabited urban area in the nation. By the time they get to Wilshire and Santa Monica, they’ll be tearing their hair out. Bus rapid transit is not an acceptable solution.

* Let’s make it simple and inexpensive. Why not make existing pairs of traffic arteries “one way in opposite direction For example: Olympic and Pico, Third Street and Beverly Boulevard, Western and Vermont, Sepulveda and Sawtelle. The list could go on and on.
