Jazz, Hip-Hop Dance Workshop Offered
The Westlake High School dance team will host a jazz and hip-hop workshop for area youths Dec. 9.
The Westlake High team competes nationally under the direction of Susie Bellows. Team members have been dancing for a number of years, have attended expert-level camps and have worked with some of the top choreographers in the country, said event spokeswoman Millie DaSilva.
The workshop, which is open to third- through ninth-grade students, is designed to teach dance exercises and moves and includes a brief showcase performance for parents at the end of the workshop, DaSilva said.
The cost is $15 if registered by Dec. 1, or $20 at the door.
Registration runs from noon to 12:30 p.m. and is followed by the workshop, which continues until 5 p.m. in the Westlake High School gymnasium, 100 N. Lakeview Canyon Road, Westlake Village.
For more information, call DaSilva at 529-7515.
