SEASON AT A GLANCE: UCLA-bound Sciarra needed time to adjust to the spread offense installed by new Coach Jim Bonds, but he has passed for 2,098 yards and 14 touchdowns in 10 games. Sciarra’s competitiveness and poise will be crucial when St. Francis (8-2) opens the Southern Section Division III playoffs Friday against Saugus.
WEEK AT A GLANCE: Sciarra completed 14 of 17 passes for a career-high 421 yards and three touchdowns in a 45-22 Mission League victory over Chaminade. “It was a great performance,” Bonds said. “He was on his game and I was glad to see it.”
