The City Council will hold a public hearing tonight to discuss how to spend $100,000 of state funds received from the Citizens’ Option for Public Safety Program.
The program, which was first signed into state law July 10, 1996, exclusively funds front-line enforcement activities for cities and unincorporated areas.
City staff is recommending that the council use about $81,000 to continue funding police services and the remaining amount to purchase additional equipment for the force. The council will meet at 7 p.m. at 25201 Paseo de Alicia. Information: (949) 707-2600.
