Proposals for one-time state grants, totaling $69,000, for five campuses of the Garden Grove Unified School District were approved by board members last week.
Other schools in the district will submit their proposals later in the year.
Board members also reappointed Frank Noe to the personnel commission for a three-year term, which will begin Dec. 1.
The commission has three members.
