Values of the Day

I’ve always enjoyed viewing Norman Rockwell’s Saturday Evening Post covers and also enjoyed Christopher Knight’s review of the Rockwell exhibit (“Judging Rockwell by His Covers,” Nov. 7) and appreciated his insightful comments.
Rockwell did, indeed, paint pictures to reflect the values and sentiments of his day. However, as I viewed “Boy With Baby Carriage,” I was overwhelmed with one thought: If that picture were being painted today, instead of the boy pushing a baby sister in the carriage, the child would, no doubt (and unfortunately), be his own!
