Siljegovic Helps Royal Serve Up First-Round Rout of Canyon

Nena Siljegovic served 10 consecutive points in the second game and Royal High School defeated Canyon, 15-10, 15-5, 15-12, in the first round of the Southern Section Division I-A playoffs at Royal.
Siljegovic had five of her six aces during the second-game stretch and also finished with five kills and 25 assists.
Tanya Grover had 13 kills and Catie Clark and Carly Huffman each had five blocks for Royal (17-8).
In other first-round volleyball matches:
Mira Costa def. Ventura, 15-10, 16-14, 15-3--Elena DeAlba had nine kills with 13 digs but the Cougars (8-7) lost at Mira Costa (27-1).
Buena def. Crescenta Valley, 15-7, 15-6, 15-5--Janee Richards had 19 assists and Lindsey Martin had 12 kills for the Bulldogs (8-7) in a first-round victory at Crescenta Valley.
DIVISION II-AA
Westlake def. Pasadena, 15-4, 15-1, 15-4--Brenn Larson had eight kills and 10 assists, and Katie Maledy had 10 digs, eight kills and four aces for the Warriors (15-2) in first-round victory at Westlake.
DIVISION V-AA
Bishop Diego def. Grace Brethren, 15-13, 12-15, 15-6, 5-15, 15-9--Amber Davis had 17 kills with 19 blocks and the Cardinals (10-7) upset the seventh-seeded Lancers (11-2) at Grace Brethren (11-2).
Viewpoint def. Villanova Prep, 13-15, 15-6, 15-8, 15-9--Krystal Dry had five aces and seven digs and Calais Brown had 11 kills for the Patriots in a first-round victory at Viewpoint.
DIVISION V-A
Thousand Oaks Hillcrest Christian def. Pilgrim, 15-0, 15-11, 16-14--Sophomore Rachel Rubenstein had six blocks and Eleanor Hower had 11 kills for the Saints (13-3) in a first-round victory at Chaminade High.
Newbury Park Adventist def. Southwestern Academy, 16-14, 10-15, 10-15, 15-4, 15-2--Katy Ingeberg had 12 kills, seven digs and five aces to lead host Newbury Park Adventist.
