Santa Paula 17, Calabasas 14--Jacob Macias kicked a 25-yard field goal with 21 seconds to play as the Cardinals came from behind twice at Calabasas.
David Maldonado of Santa Paula (7-1-1, 2-1) completed nine of 14 passes for 137 yards, including a 31-yard touchdown pass to John Wadkowski midway through the second quarter to tie the score, 7-7.
Santa Paula’s Xavier Ramirez rushed for 61 yards in 12 carries, including a 17-yard touchdown run that tied the score, 14-14, in the third quarter.
David Wolfe of Calabasas (4-5, 2-1) caught three passes for 35 yards and scored both Coyote touchdowns on receptions 21 and 10 yards. Wolfe’s first scoring catch in the first quarter gave Calabasas a 7-0 lead. His second scoring reception made it 14-7 in the second quarter.
Calabasas’ Justin Shagrin missed field-goal attempts of 42 and 34 yards in the fourth quarter while the score was tied.
