A 23-year-old Port Hueneme woman and her young son suffered minor injuries Tuesday when their car plunged more than 25 feet off the Moorpark Freeway, authorities said.

Heidi Loosbrock was driving north on the freeway about 11 a.m. when she apparently had a seizure and lost control of her Pontiac Grand Am, said California Highway Patrol Officer Ron Erickson.

Loosbrock’s car drifted into a dirt center divider, across the southbound lanes and over the railing, landing on its wheels on Hillcrest Drive, Erickson said. The car came to rest on a sidewalk.

“She hit pretty hard, but the car itself was in pretty good shape,†Erickson said.

Loosbrock’s son, whose age and name were not available, was in a car seat.

Both victims were taken to Los Robles Regional Medical Center in Thousand Oaks, where they were treated and released.

The officer did not know what type of seizure Loosbrock had suffered.
