The Planning Commission approved plans Tuesday to build a drive-through Wienerschnitzel in the Imperial-Rose Shopping Center at Imperial Highway and Rose Drive.
Unlike a separate proposal to build a Wienerschnitzel on Chapman Avenue, the Imperial-Rose plan did not face public opposition. The commission’s vote was 4 to 1, with Commissioner Patricia Shoemaker opposed. Commissioners Keith Gibson and Marv Reid were absent.
“This is an ideal place for the restaurant,” said Olga Luquin, a resident who opposed plans for the south Placentia hot-dog restaurant because it was near her home.
Representatives for the project said the restaurant would not cause additional traffic in the area, adding that Wienerschnitzel’s drive-through system averages a minute per car service.
