Garden Grove resident Dung-Hanh Thi Nguyen will be recognized today as the Outstanding Graduate for the College of Liberal Arts at Cal State Long Beach. Since emigrating from Vietnam in 1994, Nguyen has learned English and Spanish, participated in three research programs, presented findings at two national conferences and developed a scholarship Web site in less than six weeks--10 months ahead of schedule.
