RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA
The City Council last week adopted a policy prohibiting sexual harassment and discrimination by city employees.
The policy prohibits workers from making unwanted sexual advances, offering benefits in return for sexual favors or making lewd remarks, gestures or displaying sexually suggestive pictures, objects or cartoons. The policy also prohibits any unwelcome physical contact or verbal abuse regarding physical appearance.
The policy calls for complaints to be reported to the city manager or another supervisor within one week of the incident.
