Secret Card Makes Fast Work of Kindergarten Field

Before Saturday night’s $385,600 Kindergarten Futurity at Los Alamitos, trainer Jaime Gomez said he thought Secret Card--a 2-year-old Raise A Secret filly--would run even better than she had two weeks earlier when she was the fastest qualifier for the Grade I event.
Breaking well from the outside post in the field of 10, Secret Card--part of a three-horse entry that was the even-money favorite--proved her trainer right as she easily defeated 9-1 shot Copper Buff by 1 1/2 lengths.
Secret Card, ridden by Oscar Andrade, completed the 300 yards in a rapid 15.27, only six-hundredths of a second off the track record of 15.21 set by Ima Ladys Alibi on Dec. 26, 1992.
