Chaminade def. Laguna Beach, 15-9, 12-15, 15-11, 8-15, 15-6--Paul Jocas had 61 assists, six blocks and 19 digs to spark the Eagles to a victory at Laguna Beach.
Junior Brian Bardos had 25 kills and 18 digs, and Adam Hickerson had 16 kills and 23 digs for second-seeded Chaminade (18-3).
The Eagles, who tied Alemany for second place in the Mission League behind Loyola, advanced to the semifinals for the first time in school history.
Chaminade took an 8-0 lead in the fifth game on the strength of three blocks by reserve junior middle-blocker Dana Ramirez.
The Eagles outscored Laguna Beach, 7-6, the rest of the way to secure the victory.
Morgan Wood had 19 kills and Peter Anderson had 16 for Laguna Beach (9-12).
Whittier Christian def. Villanova Prep, 12-15, 15-5, 15-11, 15-7--Tim Layton registered 31 kills and Andrew Rahm contributed 49 assists for the Heralds in a victory at La Serna High.
Steve Ziemans had nine kills for Whittier Christian (23-6).
